Our Mission

The Alliance to Close the Wealth Gap is a national, minority-led organization focused on closing the growing wealth gap in low- and moderate-income communities by increasing the supply of homes and access to homeownership. Homeownership, a key driver of intergenerational wealth, is declining across all communities, with communities of color being hit the hardest.

The Alliance’s strategy is straightforward yet powerful: we are creating a national coalition of organizations that represent communities in need of affordable housing or those that benefit financially from its development. Together, this movement will have the political influence to urge our nation’s leaders to enact policies and legislation necessary to boost housing production.
